Project Brief
The project required me to construct a music lyric video for a song from The Spotify Top 20 South African Charts. The song selected was Lemons (Lemonade) by AKA ft Nasty C. Out of the top 20 this song is one that I both enjoyed and related to the most out of the bunch, hence I decided to go with this song.
Project Aim
To convey the nuance of the song I needed to visually show lemons to lemonade.
Colour Palette
Persian Red Dark Shade
In South Africa, red is associated with bloodshed and mourning. Associated with fire, violence, and warfare as well as love and passion. Works with context of first verse and artist life context. Works metaphorically as emotions are at war.
Burning Orange Dark Shade
Associated with change. Works metaphorically as change is symbolised by finding direction.
Supernova
Associated with hope and happiness. Lighter shade to represent a calming happiness Works with lyrics because second verse is more positive and hopeful. Metaphorically works because outcome has lead to happiness.
